I have just re-reborned a reborn a client had made through another artist.

After receiving a shocking surprize when she got her baby, she asked me if its possible to strip her and reborn her from scratch.

I had to remove the old paint (if a half an hour was spent painting her, its a lot) and removed the hair, which was only rooted in patches and very badly done with lots of plugs. I also made a horrifying discovery inside the doll.....

Almost no paint at all PLUS I pulled the hair out with one yank as the wood glue used to seal the hair, did not dry!!! It was all wet and sticky on the inside. No wonder she was not allowed to comb the hair right away!

NO paint, bad eyebrows and bad lips...

I found this inside the doll... looks like some or other type of crushed stone bought from a gardening centre or petshop as used in fish tanks..... Eeuwwwwwwwww!!!

A sweet little boy...

This has been a VERY exciting week for our family as we became so much richer - my niece had her first baby!!!
We've got a sweet little boy in our household now and the days of loud noises have been replaced with shhhhh's and pajama drills :o)
We already just love him to bits and he has a special place in our hearts. He is so soooo cute and I could not resist taking a few snapshots of him while getting his first real bath :o)))))

Since I received no help from the Marzanne Kruger Facebook Group to collect funds for her rehab, I have now turned to Ebay. Hopefully this baby will sell there.

I have listed Belle this week, but made some minor changes to this auction.
As you know, I said I would donate this baby to Marzanne Kruger, but since I have not heard back from them to date, I will list her with 25% donated to her fund for my next 4 babies (including Belle)

I have managed to take some pics of Belle on Saturday afternoon.
They are not great, but they will have to do for now as I know many of you have been asking when I will show her :o)))
I will be taking some more this week for her Auction.

I hope Marzanne will also love her baby that we will auction off for her

I made the most beautiful baby girl for a client....
After her birth, she was just so perfect and she has been the hardest part of me to let go of..... She reminded me so much of my little girl, who was born way too soon :o(((((((
And then the death of my brother....

Parting with all of this and then her, was just too much for me and I just could not let go. But this morning, I had to close my eyes and set her free, so she could go and make her new mommy a very happy person....

I think in a way, this has helped me to cope with my loss.... I have to let go sometimes, of the things that are precious and dear to me.

I will never forget her and she will always be in my heart :o(((((((

A New baby for a VERY special Girl......

Last night I finished a reborn baby for a little girl who has touched my heart. Her name is Marzanne Kruger and she has a very very sad story to tell......

A day after her first birthday, she was brutally attacked by three men in her parent's house. She suffered terrible injuries to her little head, which included skull fractures. She was in the ICU for some time, with a ventilator breathing for her.

After sooo many prayers from people across our country, she has been getting better, and was released to go home...

The morning prior to her attack, she was a healthy, glowing little baby angel, and she returned home BLIND from this attack.

I am hoping to get our community and public faces involved in this fundraising initiative, where we hope that we can raise enough funds to support her parents with her rehabilitation, as well as the rehab of other children who desperately needs it.

I will post some pics tomorrow of this baby, as time did not permit me to take her pics today :o(((((((

Terrible Times

What a terrible time I have been going through.
At the end of November I moved up to Pretoria, South Africa, literally leaving everything behind, including the city that I love most. Its now May and I really hate it here. I would do anything to just go back in time and alter my decision. It's been a huge adjustment and I just can't seem to get use to the people and the place. Its sooo different than the Capetonians... (I wanna go home :o(((((((( )
On the 20th of April I lost my dear brother very suddenly and this changed my whole life. The last man in our lives are now gone and we are just a bunch of women left in our family. Why did he have to leave us so soon??? He was an absolutely AMAZING man and I miss him so much. There was nothing on earth he would not do for me or my three beautiful kids. He was their brother/father/grandfather... all in one. He had a special touch with children and they all seemed to adore him. After his death, the little boy a few houses away, would come looking for him.... walking through my mom's whole house.. calling "Boeta" (his nickname) Its so sad to think that even a 1 year old, could miss someone, who was special to him.
We will still miss him for many many years to come. Nothing and no-one will ever be able to fill that space. He was a One of a Kind......
